PLEASE HELP!!!! In the problem below, the student made a mistake. What is the students mistake in 1-2 sentences?

x^2 - 5x + 6

x^2 - 6x - 1x + 6

x(x-6) - 1(x-6)

(x-1) (x-6)

1. The student changed -5x to -6x -1x. You can not simplify things like that, and it is not even equal to it’s original value.

2. The student correctly had x and -1 outside of the parenthesis, and should have stopped solving there. But those numbers totally vanished.
