When we add the area of semicircle I and III of same radius, we get a cirlce.

diameter = 48 cm

r = 48/2 = 24 cm

Area of I and III = area of circle

= πr²

= 3.14 * 24 *24

= 1808.6 cm²

Figure II:

length = diameter of the bigger semicircle = 48 cm

width = diameter of the smaller circle = 14 cm

Area of rectangle (figure II) = length *width

= 48 * 14

= 672 cm²

Smaller semicircle A & B

diameter = 14 cm

r = 14/2 = 7 cm

Area of Semicircle A & B = Area of a circle


\sf = (22)/(7)*7*7\\\\ = 22*7\\\\= 154 \ cm^(2)

Area of shaded region = area of rectangle II + area of figure I & III - area of A &B

= 672 + 1808.6 - 154

= 2326.6cm²
