Explanation:

1st- Multiply 32 and 1.40

2nd- Multiply 32 and .59

3rd- Get the sum of both of the products and add them (18.88 and 44.8)

4th- You would get $63.68

5th- Get $135 and subtract $63.68 from it.

6th- You then get $71.32

7th- Mrs. Thomas would have $71.32 after her purchases.
