Since this portion is equally divided for corn, beans, and wheat, these are three different crops.

We divide the portion given by 3

1/2÷3

To get the division, we change the division sign into multiplication sign and the divisior reciprocated hence

1/2÷3 is same as 1/2*1/3

1/2*1/3=1/6

Therefore, each crop occupies 1/6 of the farmers land.
