The
lithosphere
, which is the outermost shell of a planet (the crust and upper mantle area), is broken into about 8 tectonic plates. technically the upper most part of the mantle and all of the crust is broken into tectonic plates, but for this I would say
crust.
Pacific; the pacific plate is the largest tectonic plate of the major six and lies underneath the Pacific ocean.
The Himalayian Mountains can be found on the Eurasian plate.
