There are 3 children of a lady. In how many ways is it possible to dress them for a party if the first child likes 3 dresses, second likes 4 and the third likes 5 but the third child has out grown one of them? Each child has a different set of clothes.

A. 11
B. 10
C. 60
D. 48
E. 15

If all of their dresses are fit for the kids, the possible way to dress them is 3*4*5=60

But one dress is out grown for the third child. Hence, the combination that are not possible.

3*4*1=12

So total number of possible ways are :

3*4*5 - 3*4*1=48

Hence the answer is option D.
