Jo weighed 155 pounds at 1:00 pm on August 1, 2015 before he did 45 minutes of an intense cross-fit style workout that resulted in him being breathless and covered in sweat. At 2:00 pm that same day he weighed 152 pounds. How much fluid should he drink to re-hydrate after this bout of exercise?

Answer:Jo should drink 6CUPS OF FLUID after this exercise to re-hydrate himself.

Exercise increases the number of calories you burn and help you lose body fat.

Exercise has alot to do with sweating, catabolism and and loss of energy, these lots of body processes bring about loss of bodily fluids and as well dehydration.

Explanation: Jo is dehydrated which is evidenced on his weight reduction from 155 pounds to 152pounds.

A cup of fluid is equivalent to 0.5 pounds.

0.5pounds multiplied by 6 cups of fluid will equal to 3pounds.

Jo's weight reduced from 155 pounds to 152 pounds meaning that he lost 3pounds.

Drinking 6cups of fluid which equal 3pounds will re-hydrate Jo to his previous weight of 155pounds.

1 cup of fluid = 0.5pounds

6 cups of fluid = 0.5×6

= 3pounds.

155pounds - 152pounds = 3pounds

Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don't have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions.
