The French Revolution is considered by many as one of the great turning points of the modern era because never before had the society of a powerful country been transformed to give political representation to its entire population on the basis of the principle of popular sovereignty. In addition, as enlightenment ideas were present together with those of democracy, they clashed with the absolute power of the monarchy. Although many historians can support that it was a complete successes, It is my contention that the French revolution can be accounted as a failure since it causes more damage

Answer:

The damages in society are represented by the ascension of the bourgeoisie that, once with the power in their hands, they forgot all the promises and desires of change that the French Revolution attempted to promote.

Step-by-step explanation:

The core of the French Revolution was to take down the monarchy, and their spreaders were always talking about freedom, equality and to change the world with the fight. However, when Louis XVI was beheaded and the bourgeoisie rise in power, they didn't fulfill their promises. Beyond the regime of terror, the violence and the persecution of the deviants, the French Revolution failed to promote equality, liberty, and fraternity. Also, after 10 years of convulsion, France experienced another monarchy, even more, violent in the person of Napoleon.
