Answer:

earrings cost $10

necklaces cost $14

we can find this out by using elimination

your equations would be

4x+y=54

x+3y=52

then we would multiply the second equation by -4 and eliminate the x's and solve for y (which would be 14)

then we can plug in y to the first equation (4x+y=54) and get 10 for x

*x=earrings and y=necklaces*
