The United States lost around 58,000 soldiers during the Vietnam War and nearly a million Vietnamese were killed. Why do you think with such devastating losses on the Vietnamese side the United States still lost the war?

We did and we didn't loose the war. We technically won the war forcing them to retreat and everything however the United States original purpose was to stop the spread of communism we in fact did fail to do that, not only were the Vietnamese on the side of Communism but so were other countries that were marching through the world to spread the idea. So yes we won but we lost the cause of the battle.
