What is the probability of rolling an even number on a standard number cube and then rolling a 1?

Explanation:

A die has the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6

Even numbers 2,4,6

P (even) = number of even numbers/ total

= 3/6 = 1/2

P (1) = Number of 1's/ total

=1/6

Since the events are independent

P(even, then 1) = P(even) * P(1)

=1/2 * 1/6

= 1/12
