Answer:The ending of The Tell Tale Heart story surprised me because I didn't except him to panic and turn himself in at the end of the story. The character thought that he got away with murder but after the police came and they stayed for a drink, the character thought that the police men knew that the body was there and were only taunting him. Because of the fear and guilt he was going through, he felt like he had no choice and confess his crime.
