Answer:

The full answer with well detailed explanation is in the Explanation section.

Step-by-step explanation:

The criteria used to determine if an injury or illness is classified as a “Restricted work" is when, as the result of a work-related injury or illness:

1. The Employer keeps the employee from performing one or more of the routine functions (work activities regularly performs, at least once per week) of his or her job, or from working the full workday that he or she would otherwise have been scheduled to work; or

2. A physician or other licensed health care professional recommends that the employee not perform one or more of the routine functions (work activities regularly performs, at least once per week)of his or her job, or not work the full workday that he or she would otherwise have been scheduled to work.

The specific OSHA standard used in this case are :

1. 1904.7(b)(4)(i)(A)

2. 1904.7(b)(4)(i)(B)

An example of this is an individual who has had surgery for his or her harmstring pull injury, whereby the employee can only work for a few hours a day(e.g. 4 hours) for some weeks like between 3 to 6 weeks, before returning to work his normal 8 hour days.

Answer:

The criteria used to determine if an injury or illness is classified as a “restricted work” case is based on the guidelines and guidance of a licensed health and medical officer such as a medical doctor, a physician or other licensed health care provider that the personnel/worker be restricted to selected routine functions of his or her job, or work the full work day that he or she would otherwise have been scheduled to work. 29 CFR 1904.7 (b)(4)(i)(B)

An example of this might be an individual who has had a debridement of wound, burn, or infection and can only work 3 hours a day for 5 weeks before returning to work his normal 8 hour days.
