Miranda had 4 pounds, 6 ounces of clay. She divided it into 10 equal parts. How heavy was each part?

Change pounds to ounces.

1 pound = 16 ounces.

4 x 16 = 64 + 6 = 70 total ounces of clay.

Now divide by 10:

70 / 10 = 7

Each part was 7 ounces.
