Sodium chloride (NaCl) is salt! Our body uses it to: absorb and transport nutrients, maintain blood pressure, maintain the right balance of fluid, transmit nerve signals, and contract and relax muscles.

It’s made when Na (sodium) and Cl (chloride) come together.

Answer: Sodium chloride is the chemical name for salt. It’s also an electrolyte that regulates the amount of water in your body.
