Answer:

47/73 or 0.644

Explanation:

Since 57 of these people are women, then the number of men there, is = 90 - 57 = 33 men. Again, we are told that 73 out of the 90 people like tea. That means that the number of people who do not like tea = 90 - 73 = 17 people.

If 7 of the men do not like tea then the number of men in the group of 90 people that like tea will be gotten by subtracting 7 that don't like tea from the total number of men in the group:

33 men - 7 men = 26 men like tea.

Since there are 73 people out of the group of 90 that enjoy tea, then the total number of women that enjoy tea is:

= Total number of people that like tea - number of men that like tea.

= 73 - 26 = 47 women

Since there are 47 women that like tea here, then the Probability of selecting or picking a woman from the people that like tea is:

Number of women that like tea/total number of people that like tea

= 47/73 or 0.644

The probability of picking a woman that likes tea out of the group that likes tea is 47/73 or 0.644

Answer:

64.38% probability that this person is a woman

Explanation:

A probability is the number of desired outcomes divided by the number of total outcomes.

We have that:

90 people are asked if they like tea.

57 of these people are women.

So 90-57 = 33 are men.

7 of the men do not like tea.

So 33-7 = 26 of the men like tea.

73 of the 90 people like tea.

26 men and 73-26 = 47 women

One of the people who like tea is chosen at random. What is the possibility that this person is a woman

Desired outcomes:

47 women who like tea.

Total outcomes:

73 people who like tea

47/73 = 0.6438

64.38% probability that this person is a woman
