Using the digits 0-9, no more than one time each, place a digit in a box to create an equation with a solution x= -1/2

Create three equations. Formula is below.

__ x+ __=__ x+ __
Please help me! I couldn’t make it on the last day of school amid the virus outbreak. I have no idea what I’m doing and I’m so behind. We were given these packets in no relation to the unit before the break and I’m panicking. :(

Answer:

The required equation is 4x + 1 = 2x + 0

Explanation:

- x + - = - x + -

Let

ax + b = cx + d

ax - cx = d - b

x (a - c) = d - b

x = d - b / a - c

since we want an equation whose solution is x = -1/2

Therefore,

-1/2 = d - b / a - c

Choosing a,b,c,d from digits 0 - 9 not more than one time each

hence, we choose

d = 0

b = 1

a = 4

c = 2

The required equation is 4x + 1 = 2x + 0
