Answer:

(2x + 3)(x - 4)

Explanation:

2x² - 5x - 12

2x² - 8x + 3x - 12

2x(x - 4) + 3(x - 4)

(2x + 3)(x - 4)

Answer:

( 2x +3 ) (x-4 )

Explanation:

2x²-5x-12

Factor

( 2x ) (x )

We need to look at the factors of -12

-1 *12 -2 *6 -3*4 -4*3 -6*2 -12*1

What multiplies 2 * 1st factor + the other factor to equal -5

2* -4 +3 = -8+3 =5

so the -4 goes on the outside and the 3 goes on the inside

( 2x +3 ) (x-4 )
