Answer: 3 or -6

Explanation:

2x2+6x=36

Collect like terms

2x2+6x-36=0

Divide all by 2

X2+3x-18=0

Factorise

Factors of -18 that will give +3 is +6&-3

X2+6x-3x-18=0

X(x+6)-3(x+6)=0

(X-3)(x+6)=0

X-3=0

X=3

X+6=0

X= -6

X= 3 or -6
