y^(2) - 4y + 12

Explanation:

y = 2 +
√(x-8)

Put the 2 on the other side

y - 2 =
√(x-8)

Square both sides


(y-2)^(2) = x - 8

Expand the brackets


y^(2) - 4y + 4 = x-8

Move 8 to the other side

x =
y^(2) - 4y + 12
