Answer:

x = - 2

y = - 1

Explanation:

2x – 3y = - 1 | (-3)

11x - 9y = - 13

- 6x + 9y = 3

11x - 9y = - 13

___________

11x - 6x = 3 - 13

5x = - 10

x = - 2

2(-2) - 3y = - 1

- 4 - 3y = - 1

1 - 4 = 3y

3y = - 3

y = - 1

Explanation:

2x - 3y = -1...............equation 1

11x - 9y = -13 ...........equation 2

Now multiplying equation 1 by 3 and solving both equations

6x - 9y = -3

11x - 9y = -13

- + = +

- 5x = 10

Therefore x = -2

Now putting x = -2 in equation 1

2 * (-2) - 3y = -1

-4 - 3y = -1

-3y = -1 +4

-3y = 3

Therefore y = -1
