Explanation:

For the firs one draw a dot where they start. Then draw a line going down and label it 10. Next draw a line going left and label it 24. Connect the end of those who lines to form a triangle. Now we can use the pythagorean theory.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

a^2= side one (you choose)

b^2= side two (whichever side you didn't use out of the two)

c^2= the hypotenuse( this is the diagonal line you drew connecting the two lines at the end)

10^2 + 24^2 =c^2

100 + 576 =c^2

676=c^2 Since the C is still squared we have to squareroot both sides. This will cancel oout the ^2 on the C.


√(676) =√(c^2) Solve.

26=c
