How do you algebraically prove that two lines are parallel, and that two lines are perpendicular? Explain, and give a pair of equations for an example of each.

Parallel lines have the same slope (the number before x).
Y=5+2x
Y=8+2x

Perpendicular lines have same slope but opposite signs

Y=5+2x
Y=7-2x
