Explanation:

Basically, to factor something, you must take the GCF of both terms

In this case, you can factor out a number and a variable!

The greatest common factor between -16x and 12x^2 is 4x

So you extract that and put it outside the parenthesis.

it should look like this once its fully factored!

4x(3x-4)

Answer:

4x(3x-4)

To check and see if you are right you would factor over and see if you got back the equation.

4x(3x)=12x^2 because the ^2 comes from the 2 x's.

4x(-4)=-16x

so you get your equation
