A machine and a human body are both complex systems. They both require fuel and both are made up of hundreds, if not thousands, of individual parts. All the parts have to be in good working order to keep them going. They are different mainly in the materials that they are made of. The human body is made up cells, blood, bones, and muscles. A car is made up of metal, rubber, plastic, and glass. People in biomechanics study the human body much as mechanics for engineers study cars.
