Step 1: Set x to -1 in the first equation


f(x) = -x^2 + x


f(-1) = -(-1)^2 + (-1)


f(-1) = -(1) - 1


f(-1) = -1 - 1


f(-1) = -2

Step 2: Set x to -1 in the second equation


f(x) = -x


f(-1) = -(-1)


f(-1) = 1
