The only way I can solve this is by assuming the letter on the far left is a B. If that is the case, <BAC and <EAC are supplementary.

Ignore the line going from C to D and look at the angle that is left. <EAC is out in the open. What happens is that <EAC and <BAC share the same starting poing which is A.

Each of the angles divide the diameter in two. The construction makes a total angle of 180 degrees which makes them supplementray.

<BAC + <EAC = 180o

<EAC = 31 degrees Given. Substitute that value into the equation above.

<BAC + 31 = 180 Subtract 31 from both sides.

<BAC +31-31 = 180 - 31 Combine
