The answer is 33

Explanation:

By arranging the numbers in order of smallest to largest you get: ----------------> 13, 22, 30, 33, 40, 54, 55. Cross off a number from each side until you get one or two left in the middle. Cross out 13 and 55 then 22 and 54 then 30 and 40. Now you have 33 left in the middle, that is your median

Arranging in ascending order, we get

13 , 22 , 30 , 33 , 40 , 54 , 55

no of data (N) = 7

Now Position of Median

= {(N +1 ) / 2}th item

= {(7+1) / 2 } that item

= 4 that item

So now exact median = 33
