A shipping clerk will ship an order of 200 batteries so long as three randomly selected batteries work. Past data has shown that five out of 200 batteries are defective. What is the probability that the clerk will ship the order?

Answer:

0.9264999239

Explanation:

chance that first battery that is being checked works is 195/200

chance that second battery that is being checked works is 194/199

chance that third battery that is being checked works is 193/198

propabilty that the clerk ships the order is (195/200)×(194/199)×(193/198)

=0.9264999239
