3x - 2y = 12..............equation 2

Solving both equations we get

2x + 2y = -2

3x - 2y = 12

5x = 10

Therefore x = 2

Now putting x = 2 in equation 1

2 * 2 + 2y = -2

4 + 2y = -2

2y = -2 -4

2y = -6

Therefore y = -3
