Nonviolence, as the name indicates itself, is a nonviolent way to request a political or social change. It is a peaceful way to improve our world, without the use of harmful actions to other people.

During racial movements, noviolence took a major role as the protagonist within events. African American people used nonviolent technics to express their ideas (such as sit-ins, or commercial boycotts). Nonviolence has been used to promote equality by women, persons with disabilities, other racial groups, among others. Additionally, this technique has also an international impact beyond the U.S.A. For example, India liberated itself from the British Empire by using nonviolence in expressing their need for a change. We may also find other examples within the pass of time, this way of protesting has a rather extended history in many places around the world.
