The beginning temperature at 2 pm was 49.4 egress Celsius, if the temperature started dropping rate of 0.6 degrees at 2 pm and 47.6 degrees Celsius at 5 pm.

Explanation:

The given is,

Temperature started dropping 0.6 degrees Celsius at 2 pm

Temperature is 47.6 degrees Celsius at 5 pm

Step:1

Difference in hours between 2 pm to 5 pm,

= 5 - 2

= 3 hours

Step:2

Temperature dropping rate = 0.6 degrees Celsius per hour

Temperature dropped at the 3 hours,

= Dropping rate × Hours

= 0.6 × 3

= 1.8 degrees Celsius

Step:3

For the beginning of the temperature,

( we need to add the dropped temperature at the end of the temperature value )

Temperature at 2 pm = Temperature at 5 pm + Dropped Temperature

= 48.6 + 1.8

= 49.4

Temperature at 2 pm = 49.4 degrees Celsius

Result:

The beginning temperature at 2 pm was 49.4 egress Celsius, because the temperature started dropping rate of 0.6 degrees at 2 pm and 47.6 degrees Celsius at 5 pm
