The cost of total paint is 176.696

Explanation:

Given,

The length of two parallel lines (l and b) are 10 m and 16 m

Height (h) = 7.6 m

Cost of 5 l paint is 16.99

1 l of paint covers 1.9 m²

To find the cost of paint to cover the floor.

Formula

The area of the trapezium is =
(1)/(2)(l+b)h

So,

The area of the floor =
(1)/(2)(16+10)×7.6 m²

= 98.8 m²

Again,

1.9 m² will be covered by 1 l of paint

1 m² will be covered by
(1)/(1.9) l of paint

98.8 m² will be covered by
(98.8)/(1.9) l of paint

= 52 l

Now,

5 l of paint cost = 16.99

1 l of paint cost =
(16.99)/(5)

52 l of paint cost =
(16.99X52)/(5) = 176.696

Hence,

The cost of total paint is 176.696
