But to get 3 u have to use the Pythagorean Theorem to get your answer. So first of the 2 legs of the right triangle are 4 and 3 as shown on the graph. So since the formula is a^2 + b^2 = c^2 you have to plug in 3 and 4 as a and b. So you get 4^2 + 3^2 = c^2. Solve one side of the equation you get 16 + 9 = c^2. So add 16 and 9 u get 25 + c^2. So you square root both sides and get c = 5. So therefore the answer is 5 units.
