One angle has five times as many degrees as another angle. The greater angle has 120 degrees more than the lesser angle. How many degrees are in both angles?

b = 30 degrees

a = 150 degrees

Explanation:

Let's call a to the first angle and b to the second one. So we have:

a = 5*b (1)

and it says that the greater angle has 120 degrees more than the lesser angle. So It will be:

a = 120+b (2)

We just need to solve both equations. We can equal both of them.

5b = 120+b

4b = 120

b = 30 degrees

Therefore a = 5*30 = 150 degrees
