Volume of a Cylinder

Volume of the cylinder is 28.26 in³

Explanation:

Cylinder is defined as a three dimensional geometric figure with straight parallel sides and a circular or oval cross section.

The volume of the cylinder is defined as
\\\pi r^(2) h

where r is radius of the base of the cylinder and h is the height of the cylinder

V =
\\\pi r^(2) h

Given diameter d = 6 in

So the radius r =
(d)/(2) =
(6)/(2) = 3 in

Given the height is three times the radius

so the height h =
(r)/(3) =
(3)/(3) = 1 in

so h = 1 in

V = 3.14 × 3² × 1

= 3.14 × 9

= 28.26 in³

Hence the Volume of the cylinder is 28.26 in³
