Answer:

146 m²

Explanation:

Divide the figure into a triangle and 2 rectangles (see attached diagram)

Formulae

  • Area of a triangle = 1/2 x base x height
  • Area of a rectangle = width x length

Triangle 1

⇒ area = 1/2 x 16 x (6 + 9 - 4 - 4)

= 1/2 x 16 x 7

= 56 m²

Rectangle 2

⇒ area = 3 x (6 + 9)

= 3 x 15

= 45 m²

Rectangle 3

⇒ area = 5 x 9

= 45 m²

Total area

⇒ Total area = triangle 1 + rectangle 2 + rectangle 3

= 56 + 45 + 45

= 146 m²

Answer:

146 m²

Area of triangle:

  • 1/2 * base * height
  • 1/2 * 16 * 7
  • 56 m²

Area of upper rectangle:

  • Length * Width
  • 8 * 9
  • 72 m²

Area of bottom rectangle:

  • Length * Width
  • 6 * 3
  • 18 m²

Total area:

  • 18 m² + 72 m² + 56 m²
  • 146 m²
