Per student, six feet of space stands in between each of them.

Our question, though, wants to figure out the amount of feet (or, blank space between each student,) there are in total.

In order to answer this for ourselves, all we have to do is multiply our number of students by the amount of space they are standing apart from one another.

[F] - Feet

[T] - TOTAL feet

S × F = T

By filling in the variables, we now have our equation rewritten as shown:

23 × 6 = 138

Therefore, all of the students together are 138 feet apart from each other.
