In my view this statement fits best: b.When a ship captain dies, it is a tragedy, because he is the leader of the boat, just as Lincoln was the leader of the country. Lincoln was a strong and great leader who led America to the success. Every one depended on him just like the crew on its captain. He had a power and people respected him. That's why he's the captain.

Answer:

Lincoln was the "captain" of the US. Without him, the nation was "lost at sea" not knowing what to do.
