For this case we have that by definition, the perimeter of a rectangle is given by:

P = 2l + 2w

Where:

l: is the length of the rectangle

w: Is the width of the rectangle

According to the data of the statement we have:

P = 440 \ yards\\l = w + 30

Substituting we have:

440 = 2 (w + 30) + 2w\\440 = 2w + 60 + 2w\\440 = 4w + 60\\440-60 = 4w\\380 = 4w\\w = \frac {380} {4}\\w = 95 \ yards

So the length is:

l = 95 + 30 = 125 \ yards

Answer:

w = 95 \ yards\\l = 95 + 30 = 125 \ yards
