Answer:

We save 16.18 dollars.

Explanation:

First, I did calculations on how much money there would be with the discount.

129.99 times 0.2 equals 25.1 [So with the discount, I got 25.1 dollars off.]

129.99 - 25.1 = 104.89 [so with the discount, I just have to pay 104,89, now,]

Now, I did the calculations WITH the SALES TAX.

104.89 times 0.085 equals 8.92 [ so tax is actually 8.92 dollars.]

104.89 + 8.92= 113.81 [ SO, with TAX, the table costs 113.81.]

Now I see how much money I have saved.

104.89 - 113.81 = 16.18

If you still don't get how I got my answer, just ask more questions to me! =)

Answer:

Explanation:

Discount = 20% of 129.99

=(20)/(100)*129.99\\\\=25.998

= $26

Price after discount = 129.99 - 26 = $103.99

Tax = 8.5% of 103.99

=(8.5)/(100)*103.99\\\\=8.83915

= $8.84

Selling price including tax = 103.99 + 8.84

= $112.83

Amount saved = 129.99 - 112.83

=$ 17.16
