The first part is wrong. Because when you divide a number by a fraction, you will have convert it to multiply upside-down fraction but not the number that is divided :


\frac{ {x}^(2) - 4 }{5x} / (x + 2)/(x - 2)


= ((x + 2)(x - 2))/(5x) * (x - 2)/(x + 2)


= \frac{ {(x - 2)}^(2) }{5x}

e.g

(1/2)÷5 = (1/2)×(1/5)

= 1/10

e.g

2÷1/4 = 2×4

= 8
