In ΔKLM, k = 1.8 inches, ∠M=27° and ∠K=116°. Find the length of l, to the nearest 10th of an inch.

Since total angle in a triangle is 180,

∠L = 180 - ∠K - ∠M

∠L = 180 - 116 - 27

∠L = 37°

Using sine law:

  • k/sinK = l/sinL

1.8/sin(116) = l/sin(37)

l = sin(37) × 1.8/sin(116)

l = 1.205245013

Answer:

1.2 inches

Explanation:

Since total angle in a triangle is 180,

∠L = 180 - ∠K - ∠M

∠L = 180 - 116 - 27

∠L = 37°

Using sine law:

k/sinK = l/sinL

1.8/sin(116) = l/sin(37)

l = sin(37) × 1.8/sin(116)

l = 1.205245013
