Explanation:

Here

With reference angle 45°

hypotenuse (h) =x

perpendicular (p) = 5

Let

Sin45° = p/h

1/√2 = 5/ x

therefore x = 5√2

Now

b=?

Using Pythagoras theorem

b² = h² -p²

b² = (5√2)² - 5²

b² = 50 - 25

b² = 25

b² = 5²

Therefore b = 5

Now

tangent = p/b = 5/5 = 1
