Answer:

Area of Rectangle =
3(2)/(3) square kilometers

Explanation:

Area of rectangle is given by the formula:

Area of Rectangle = Length * Width

Given,

Length = 1 1/3rd km

Width = 2 3/4th km

Lets convert the numbers in improper fractions and then multiply and find the area:

1(1)/(3)=((3*1)+1)/(3)=(4)/(3)

and

2(3)/(4)=(11)/(4)

Now, the area:

Area =
(4)/(3)*(11)/(4)=(11)/(3)

This answer, again back to mixed fraction is:

(11)/(3)=3(2)/(3)

THus,

Area of Rectangle =
3(2)/(3) square kilometers
