A drawer contains 22 brown socks and 22 black socks, all unmatched. A man takes socks out at random in the dark. What is the least number of socks that he must take out to be sure that he has at least two socks of the same color?

Answer:

3 socks:)

Explanation:

He has 22 brown socks and 22 black socks.

He must take 2 socks at least, but he can take different colors, so we have:

1.He takes one sock, let he takes brown socks.

2. He takes one socks more, it can be different color from first socks, so it can be black.

3. He takes one socks more which is black or brown, so we have both color, so he will have two socks with the same color.
