To solve the inequality, you need to isolate/get the variable "x" by itself in the inequality:

2(4 + 2x) ≥ 5x + 5 Distribute/multiply 2 into (4 + 2x)

(2)4 + (2)2x ≥ 5x + 5

8 + 4x ≥ 5x + 5 Subtract 4x on both sides to get "x" on one side of the inequality

8 + 4x - 4x ≥ 5x - 4x + 5

8 ≥ x + 5 Subtract 5 on both sides to get "x" by itself

8 - 5 ≥ x + 5 - 5

3 ≥ x or x ≤ 3 [3 is greater than or equal to x, or x is less than or equal to 3]
