In each of the two coils the rate change of the magnetic flux in a single loop is the same. The emf induced in coil 1 is 1.23 V. The emf inducted in the second coil 2, which has 234 loops, is 4.56 V. How many loops are there in the first coil

Answer:

The number of loops in first coil is 64

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Induced emf in first coil
\epsilon _(1) = 1.23 V

Induced emf in second coil
\epsilon _(2) = 4.56 V

No. loops in second coil
N_(2) = 234

We have to find no. loops in first coil

Apply faraday's law to each coil,

\epsilon =- N(d\phi)/(dt)

Now compare above equation,

(\epsilon _(1) )/(N_(1) ) = (\epsilon _(2) )/(N_(2) )

So loops in first coil is,

N_(1) = (\epsilon _(1) N_(2) )/(\epsilon _(2) )

N_(1) = (234 * 1.23)/(4.56)

N_(1) = 63.11 ≅ 64

Therefore, the number of loops in first coil is 64
