An element with an atomic number of 11 and an atomic mass of 23 will have how many neutrons total?

Hey there!

The atomic mass is the sum of protons and neutrons.

So 11 + n = 23.

Solve for n.

11 - 11 + n = 23 - 11

n = 12

The element will have 12 neutrons.
