Given:

m∠R = 90° and m∠Q = 6°

PQ = 2.2 ft and RP = x

To find:

The length of RP.

Solution:

Using basic trigonometric formula:

$\sin \theta=\frac{\text { Opposite of } \theta}{\text { Hypotenuse }}

$\sin 6^(\circ)=(x)/(2.2)

Multiply by 2.2 on both sides.

$0.1 * 2.2=(x)/(2.2) * 2.2

0.22=x

0.2=x (nearest tenth)

The length of RP is 0.2 feet.
